|
|
After an interesting discussion in the dojo the other night it became apparent that lots of us have at some point trained/practiced with weapons crafted from household items.
Who hasn't held a broom and treated it as a jo? or looked at a knackered stool, wanting to break off the leg to make a tonfa?
I'd be interested in other things people have used as a substitute for the weapons they would use in class.
Personally i find a barbell makes a good bo, and dumbells make good escrima sticks (oh without the weights obviously).
If you are feeling really adventurous ask dave about his handmade sai |

I plan on making my own Kusari-gama, once my shoulder is better, but yeh, I'd love to make my own weapons. _________________ Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, steady as a mountain. |

Oh, Little One, how ditsy you can be (In a good way though). No, melon hammers are a chinese weapon and look like giant steel baby rattles and soup ladles are ver reminiscent of them, in my opinion. _________________ Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, steady as a mountain. |
