Yeh, completely understandable. Tell us when you do get round to putting them together, I may give you a hand or some idea of what I think would work best, if you choose to do so. _________________ Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, steady as a mountain. |

| ok, the only problem with the sparing one is finding rules to suit everyone. |

Well, there is several options. You can have it point based, say have 15 points per person, and every consecutive strike deducts a point, a take-down could deduct say 2 points. Then there is a round based system. 3 three minute rounds or 3 five minute rounds and maybe have judges to see the outcome of the fight if there is not a K.O.
Maybe something along those lines could work, but thats just my experience of sparring. Try watching some UFC/PRIDE/K1/UWF/Pankras and most other sports, such boxing, muay thai, etc. _________________ Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, steady as a mountain. |

Sure they can, any and all styles should be allowed. With Aikido, I'd imagine wait for an attack and counter with a wrist lock of some sort then go for a submission. If there are people who wish to participate and are Aikido-ka and are soley Aikido based and lets say only just began practicing martial arts, then, yes, they might have a problem. But I'm sure they would be able to compete somehow. _________________ Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, steady as a mountain. |

Maybe:
Ju-jitsu rules for grappling based people (I don't know anyone who have done this):
http://www.ama-gb-sport-jujitsu.org.uk/1.html
WKF rules for the Karate (point scoring).
WAKO rules for the kickboxing (Mark should be able to help).
All are available from the AMA, although I think if you have too many comps then we will be lacking numbers for interest. _________________ "Q might have done the right thing for the wrong reason, perhaps we need a good kick in our complacency to get us ready for what's ahead" -- Captain Picard |
